FIGURING OUT THE FIFTIES.... SO THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT.......

totally uniform..

I started a new job today... Its a good, well paying job which is currently 3 days a week but will be full time with weekends off in about 2 weeks...

At this place of employment I must wear a uniform...

Now it's not that I do not appreciate why businesses have uniforms, I know it's so there staff are easily recognised by customers and appear "uniformly neat and tidy and all alike"..

But this is the very reason I LOATHE uniforms....

What I LOATHE most about uniforms is that they are uniformly unflattering and uniformly baggy...

So it was with a deep breath and a grinding of teeth that I had to remove all my 15 earrings, one extremely tiny nose stud and my tongue stud and then put on a size 14 shirt (why does it matter if it is 2 or 3 sizes too large for you??? nice and roomy dear...) and my size 8 ( I had to put up a fight to be believed that 12 actually did fall down to the ground when I wore them... ohhh they do don't they dear...) pants with legs so short that the first thing I did when I got home was undo the hem (still too short)...

All this to work in a office where no member of the public will ever see me.... it does not even have windows....

Hey I am grateful that in this day of recession I have a job that is secure and well paying... Truly I am... just don't expect me to make eye contact with you while I am in the uniformly baggy uniform... as I do not want to be seen looking like that... by anyone....

As I have just spent 409 days working my arse off so that I no longer had to wear a size 18, 16, 14 or 12 anything!!!

Training going really well.... pounded out my frustration on the cross trainer this evening for 45 mins... Thank the Goddess I still have the gym.....

lol that sucks! Sorry to hear that. I remember being worried about getting a job at a place that had a uniform because I was scared they wouldn't have one big enough for me!

Oh they can see us alright, we wear them in public now as it's dress of the day for most of us. All our dpcu uniforms are made for men so women never fit in them due to our child bearing hips. That and we can't tailor them which makes it worse.

We just suck it up instead. After all, it's not that important in the big scheme of things. :o)
