FIGURING OUT THE FIFTIES.... SO THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT.......

The Biggest difference....

Ok, so I have now been going to the gym every morning for two years and 4 months....

For about 70% of that time I have gone there 7 days a week...

I have probably missed planned workouts maybe a total of..... hmmmm hell I would have to guess at 10 days... because if they are a planned workout day I would have to be comatose or doing a fairly good impression of comatose to fool Hubby into not dragging me screaming out of the bed... which now that I really think about it would probably be 3 times in two years... the dragged screaming that is not the comatoesnous.... (woohoo new word!.. comatoseyness is better I think...) yes comatoseynes is what I going to use... coma-tosey-ness..

I have changed down to 6 days a week in the past year unless it is getting close to a competition, but then on the 7th day I don't rest and survey all that I have created (which is usually a big mess in the kitchen) I get out and enjoy the waterfront....

So after all that pushing, pulling, puffing, sweating, gasping, and grunting... to get my shoes on... hehehehe and then going to the gym for all those hours training and cardioing what one thing do I think has made the biggest difference to my journey to change my body and hopefully my life into the best it can be?????

How many votes for weight training??? cardio??? general exhaustion?? lol

Nope I think it is the nutrition..... I honestly believe that no matter what you do, you should move! Sitting thinking about how to change isn't going to make a difference... dreams are free sunshine... and magic pills and potions are just dreams....

And if you are going to move and move well... you need the best fuel you can get. Lets see your car run on contaminated fuel... so if you are putting over processed crap into you tank how fast is your body going to be able to move......... hmmmmm?

On Saturday night we went out to dinner for my Cousins 50th and had a fabulous time with him, his wife and their friends, we ate an awesome Greek meal and because we were relaxing before my pre-competition diet time rolls around we shared two deserts... then a piece of Turkish delight (well I suppose it was Greek delight) gasp! horror! Not! hell we have desert maybe 4 times a year now and so we enjoyed... We were surrounded by a table full of triathletes who could eat what they liked as they needed the fuel for the 100km rides they were all going on in the next couple of days so we ate with gay abandon!!

On Sunday Hubby and I both woke in total foul moods... nasty biting bad moods, snarling at each other like caged wild cats on speed before we went and did the Sunday waterfront jog thing eventually going our separate ways due to the snarlyness of our temperaments... and then... and please understand that this is just how I have noticed both Hubby and I have reacted in the past and again on Sunday... no scientific study that I know of to back me on this at all... nothing to except what happens to us...

Then.. thanks to the jog we burnt off the excess sugar carbs and crap in our bodies and peace returned to our world.... this is not the first time this has happened, I now have an incredibly sharp reaction to chocolate... damn annoying, but the day after I have eaten chocolate I am a crying depressed mess... after any large consumption of sugar I am nasty until I have worked it out of my system or if I don't exercise at all it takes a couple of days before I feel "nice" again....

As I said I have no scientific proof... and we also will be bound to eat foods containing processed sugars again.. but we now know that we will definitely pay for it the next day...

So being the thought junky that I am I wonder... does fact that the rate of family violence increase around time when sugar is eaten and drunk in large quantities like Christmas and Easter make it just a weird coincidence???

I know that many studies have shown how sugars and additives affect children... what about the whole family sitting down and consuming a bag a sweets, the parents drinking sugar filled alcohol, add the extra preservatives and additives from a take away meal.... kapow...

As it is also proven that there is more violence in lower socio-economic groups who are more prone to eat processed carb laden meals as they are seen as cheaper and easier that fresh meat and vegetables... is this the result of sugar overdose?

hmmm might go and see if I can find a study to back my theory...... any of you noticed anything similar????

You should pick up the "End of Overeating" by David Kessler - it's got all sorts of good reasons to suggest that most of that processed stuff is evil (except,in my case, two days out of the month)

All I know that if I am eating well and then suddenly have a lot of sugar or fat, ie pizza etc for dinner one night I will surely wake up feeling nauseous and yuck. however, unfortunately I think if you eat it all the time, your body does start to adapt to it (like what happened to the guy who made "supersize me". His body actually started to adapt to the McDonalds only food towards the end of the month.
