FIGURING OUT THE FIFTIES.... SO THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT.......

Tits off! Glad I don't have balls!

The end of a long weekend is drawing to a close....

A freezing Saturday was spent taking the Chevy for a tour out to DFO and trying our best to buy clothes... but really there was nothing appealing.... Of course Clothesaholic Hubby came home with a Puma jacket and some Industry jeans but I just could not find anything that justified spending the money...

Yesterday Hubby decided that we HAD to take the bikes for a run... HAD to even though it was colder than Saturday and overcast... bleak was my word for it... actually it was F*&^king bleak but just plain bleak will get the point across...

Yes we MUST take the bikes... even when Hubbies Boy said "Nope its too F*&^king Bleak so I won't start" ... Ok so a jump start from the car and he started... reluctantly.. about as reluctantly as I was getting onto the Broom only to discover an almost flat front tyre....

"We WILL ride the bikes" says Hubby when I gave him the "Ohhhh for F*&ks Sake what will it take" look.... and his Boy would not start again... so after another jump start and a very precarious ride to the closest servo for me.... for those who don't know... the front tyre on a bike is what makes it turn... mine was flat.... between home and the air pump there are EIGHT corners... which the broom would not do... nope no corners or roundabouts or turns... we did nice little 45 degree angles with everyone thinking I was a total learner who could not steer her broom... sigh... when really I was fighting her to stop her from just going straight... into ditches.. buses.. gas pumps...

Even after pumping up the tyre and putting in gas I gave Hubby one more... "Are you really sure????: look and YES apparently we were sure.... we were riding...

Now we have only lived in Queensland for 5 years and we are only just acclimatised... so up until now the winters have seemed ridiculously mild to us as we are used to frost and hail and even snow in August....

So when we are told it will be 20 degrees... hell that's a summer day... well it used to be...

Yesterday our Low was 9 with a high of 19... almost summer where we lived in NZ... but we haven't lived there for 5 years and I forgot that... so although I wore my leather jacket I had very little on under it.. a singlet and a thin long sleeved top... I did wear jeans with pantyhose underneath and thick fluffy socks but not my leather boots just my converse sneakers, my riding boots of choice...

On top of that I forgot that my leather jacket fitted me when I weighed about 30kgs more than I do now so there is plenty of space for the wind to howl through... my gloves are summer riding gloves.. lots of little holes so you don't sweat... Ha!

So by the time we hit Caloundra I was sooooooooooo cold! In fact I will admit that half way there I was going to just stop and turn around and wave goodbye to Hubby! I tell you I froze my tits off and I reckon that if I had been blessed with balls they would have clanged to the ground when I got off the broom!!! So what is the first thing Hubby says to me when we stop.... "Whose stupid idea WAS this!!!" My hands were numb so I couldn't smack him...

So after a hot coffee and a chat with friends who thought we were mad for riding (Hey not me!! It was Hubbies idea!!!) it was hell having to get back on the broom to head home... we did another quick defrosting coffee stop and ate my cold Roo and salad... yummy but not the most warming meal on the planet... and then blatted for home... yes even when the wind is ice there is nothing like winding the broom up and taking off....

Still even though it took a heavy duty chest and tricep workout to finally feel the blood circulating later that afternoon I loved being on the Broom again... she is tucked away today out of the cold wind... ahhh but there will be another ride soon... But this time with jumpers!!

Today was housework day as Hubby had to work... So after a fast 30 min walk and house cleaning my cardio was done for the day... a quick coffee and grocery shop... then went to visit Mum and Dad to see how their 62nd wedding anniversary went.. Manda, Neil and the kids dropped in there as well so it was a quick family gathering...

Not sure what "normal" people do but the rest of the day has been boring without the gym to play in... can't wait to get back there tomorrow and carry on with my goals..

So that's the weekend in a nutshell... the weather is still cold but hey its winter so what do we expect???? Bring on another week of workouts and results!!!! Time to cook....

happy belated anniversary to the folks!! hey is there such a thing as normal people? ;) i love and miss those chilly rides. ahhh! its in the 100's here now as we went from winter straight to summer, sigh, but at least its dry and we're riding!!

hey, ps, trickle chargers! do you have electricity in the garage? if so put the bikes on trickle chargers. just $40 usd for one. not only will that keep the bikes charged and ready to go, but they are documented to extend battery life by 5 yrs.

have a great week and workout!!
