New ideas..

You have to change it up a little every now and then....

No matter whether it's your training program or your undies, you have to change things to make life interesting.... and less smelly....

I mean to say, if I had stuck to the same old undies I was wearing back in 2008 I would be walking around with a huge safety pin holding up the baggy humungo undies I had to wear... of course you wouldn't be able to see the huge pin due to the fact that after wearing the same undies for that long would make me slightly pongy... but only slightly mind you...

The same goes for weight training... if you keep doing the same exercises the same way with the same weights... well what do you think you will get... the same thing... the same muscles... the same size... so of course I am not using the same training program I was when I started...

I change my training around every 8 weeks or so... sometimes it lasts a little longer other times I change after just 6 weeks.. it depends on the results that start to show, or not show.... same with cardio.. the cross trainer is back into my life, but it can be a bit mind and foot numbing so last Friday I jogged, today I was back on the cross trainer.. and after seeing the infamous Julie on the spin cycle tonight I might just drag one of those babies out in front of the big screens in the morning cause I haven't had my arse planted on one of them for a while....

Tonight we started a training programme called the FST-7 you can find out all about it HERE.. Hany Ramod designed it  and the theory is that by training this way you stretch the Fascia within the muscle and by doing this growth is made...so we thought.. must be time to change the undies.....

Tonight was Bicep/Tricep/Calves... and I can say with my hand on my heart... no hang on I can not lift my arms that high... that yes it does certainly give you an awesome muscle pump and I am sure that tomorrow I will be sucking my food off my plate with my mouth as my arms won't be working... ohh and even though I said I don't train calves... I did... couldn't resist.. so I will most likely be hobbling in the morning as well..

I have never really "felt" my biceps.. but tonight.. yes.. yes I did.. triceps are still full and tight... calves are still pumped... I like this program already, about the only problem I can see is getting hold of the machines or weights when both Hubby and I are doing the same exercise on the seven sets at the end...we managed it tonight as the 7 sets for tricep were rope extensions and it took less than the 45 second rest period for each of us to do our next set so we could fit in between each other nicely...

Been right on with my nutrition with my cheat day on Saturday not starting till after morning tea...  which was when I had my first measurements taken since October... I have gained around 900grams of muscle and I am on 15% bodyfat and 81 mils... this is a nice place to be... although I do have a bit of a belly but then that's where my off season fat sits and waves at me... actually the signs it waves at me are usually far ruder than just a wave... what can ya do... some bellies are just plain rude.. anyway 15% is ok for me.. so this is what I am planning on staying on or around...

Still not getting a lot of sleep... I am still taking ZMA but have now added some Melatonin 6x as well.. last night I was only awake and sweating 4 times instead of the 6 times I had to put up with the night before so maybe it is a break through.. honestly I was a very haggard, wrinkly old looking zombie on Saturday through lack of sleep... it was one of my ugly moments...and of course that meant it was one of those days where looking into a mirror causes it to crack and you then spend the whole day bumping into people you haven't seen in ages!!! .... sigh....

Legs tomorrow.. really.. really .. really... looking forward to trying out the FST-7 on them... should make it a fall onto the toilet seat day on Wednesday..yes!!

gaining muscle? im not surprised... excellent progress witchazel! i cant wait to hear about the legs! hmmm, i always did love the rubbery wobbles! shit... ;)
