Lots of reasons...

A New Year!! Its taken me a while to get back to the blog and this is why...

I had decided to go over to Wordpress and start a new blog there... but honestly the time it was taking just to find my way around stopped me from actually blogging... finally after much tooing and froooooing I have decided to not bother with the greener grass over the fence... I'm staying here to mow the grass I know and enjoy.. so that is reason number one for no blogging activity..

My next reason is a little strange... when questioned by Hubby about my lack of blogginess I said that I hadn't blogged as I had nothing to say... he pointed out that I used to blog about the weird and annoying activities at the gym.. I pointed out that since we had changed to Fitness Matter I had Zero whinges about people at the gym... I love the place, I love the equipment, the staff are awesome, the other gyminys are great and friendly and fun.. funny things yes and I will get to them one day soon...

I blog a lot about dreams and goals... as the New Year rolled in I found that my dreams and goals had not changed from last year... there is a little more indecision about competing and I have decided to decide about deciding in May whether or not I will decide to compete in October...  Just a couple of days ago I was asked about when and If I would be competing again... suddenly it hit me that it was still less than 3 month since I was last on stage.. come on give the old body a break... My system is still recovering from the last effort and 23 weeks of dieting.. so come May I will decide if I a decision needs to be made...

This does not mean I have not been training my glutes off... although my glutes do not require the removal of anything... my abs on the other hand are still doing what they do best and that is hide... The only days I missed since the October show were the days the gym was closed over Xmas and New Year... I still do cardio 3- 4 times a week... I have been weight training 6 days a week using the FST-7 system which has really amazed me with the muscle growth I have achieved... unfortunately it is truly exhausting and as of last week Hubby and I changed back to low reps/heavy weights for a few weeks as we had both hit a point of "too tired to train" not a pretty sight and really it was defeating the purpose of the FST-7 training...

Nutrition has been good... still basically eating what I eat pre-comp with the added nuom nuom nuom of fruit, berries and extra colourful veges... I have a cheat day every Saturday and eat whatever I want.. which tends to be anything I do not have to cook myself.. this has made a great difference to my attitude to food.. and my rebound from the comp has been totally manageable....

My only big issue has been the onset of menopause and the delightful symptoms of being a "Mature" woman... Sleeping in blocks of 1 hour with wide awake soggy sweating every night has now gone way past "interesting" and into the "what I would give for a whole night sleep" zone... seems no one will trade with me anything for a night of sleep sweats... humpf so much for friends... Then there is the chin hair... come on... who the hell thought this one up... which God threw that one into the suggestion box... some nubile young female one I bet, well she will get her karma one day! Tweezers are my new best friend..... On the plus side no TOMs... on the minus side, bloating like you are going to have TOMs... bloat is fun, I mean really who needs to wear rings on their fingers every day...

All in all not a lot of changes so far this year.. I have been very lucky with the floods.. lost telephone/internet for one day and have had to work around the weird panic buying of the Bribie aged population... although milk and bread have been hard to get I don't eat bread and only have milk once a day at home and honestly their has been no panic buying of egg whites... so far.. cat food on the other hand... lucky we have dogs.. I feel for the people who have been affected.. can not imagine the loss... very grateful for what I have and that all my family have been safe..

So this is my new year... more  blogging to come... especially as I keep create me...
