Making the Grandkids smile

I was totally determined to spend today doing something, anything that was not related in anyway to training... Got every morsel of food ready last night so today we could just pack up and head out to the real non- fitness/figure/health/fat loss world peferably on the bikes...

So of course the day started with rain and by us going to the gym and doing Abs and cardio.... sigh...

I crashed in the middle... no hang on I didn't even reach the middle... of the cardio and because Hubby had decided that he was going to do some cardio this morning ( for once - typical!) I managed to stay on the cross trainer for 25 mins before stopping... The calorie burned number wasn't as high as usual but at least they were burned...

Then... finally we got home and were ready to head anywhere that had nothing to do with my competition... in the Pick up cause of the rain...

Unfortunately Hubby discovered one of the supplements was going to run out before we would be due to go to the shop where we normally get it. So for a complete change (not!) we had to a health food shop and stock up on the essentials....

Then... finally... we were ready to go and be normal.. but first we had to eat the 10am meal because now it was close to 11am... sigh..

Then... finally we were ready to go to this one very special little cafe that has a loaf that Hubby would crawl over broken glass for... got to there just on noon to find them closed.... so we went to Starbucks for banana bread for Hubby instead... just black coffee for me...

We then managed to have a day out in the normal world.... going to Maleny to get poured on and then back towards home, stopping so I could get the grandbabies some Easter goodies - a book and 2 x fast wheel cars for Jofus Nofus and a soft bunny and 2 x baby books for Miss Lilymunster.. and two chocolate Easter rabbits which were to be shared with Mum and Dad...

The kids loved their pressies and I read Jofus 3 stories before he went to bed... What made this so very wonderful was that I was reading him the same books that I read his mother when she was 4 and that he loves them just as much as she did... and still does!

I think that him loving the written word is one of the best present I could ever give him...

I am also very proud of my little self knowing that I taught my daughter how valuable books are, and that because of what I taught her she kept those books and has passed them on to her babies...

I like to dream that in 100 years there will be one of my great great great Grandbabies laying in their bed listening to these stories from these very loved and treasured books..

Cath you sound just like I used to be in the beginning of my figure journey. Just wanting to do something "normal" that wasn't figure or comp related.

It took me a long time to realise that this is "normal" for me because this is how I live my life. I no longer want to conform to society's way of living life, instead I'll happily continue on living my life just the way I want to. Whether it's normal or not no longer matters, what matters is my health and longevity now.

Enjoy the rest of your long weekend Cath. :o)
