FIGURING OUT THE FIFTIES.... SO THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT.......

Sunday 31 May 2009

The ANB Asia-Pacific International...

Was an awesome competition!!!
around 150 competitors from 46 countries!!!
and....
I placed 4th out of 7 in the Grand Masters Figure Class.....
Sorry Hubby too lots of photos but the lighting was terrible and the ones that were ok have a big black lump that is the official photographer smack in the middle of them - sigh!
And once again the woman who came first in my class took out the Overall Figure title for the competition.
Now ladies this must tell you that we do indeed get better with age!!!
This is the second competition in 2 weeks where the Overall Womans Figure title has been taken out by two different over 40 year old woman!!!!
It was a very long weekend, we drove down on Friday so I could register and give us a bit more time on Saturday. Turned into a hell trip with road works and thunderstorms and too us almost 7 hours to get there and back. By the time we got home, had a meal and finished getting everything ready for the trip on Saturday we didn't get to bed till almost 11pm.
We were up at 4am and on the road up the coast to Kelli's at 5am to have my hair and makeup done. We all headed back down to the Gold Coast and arrived at Southport right on time at 9.30am. Which was a total waste because although we were told we HAD to be there by then nothing happened till after 10am and then we had to sit around until after the lunch break before being called to get ready....
The competition was well organised and the trophies were awesome, but the back stage area was terribly small, but hey we managed and it meant you had to be friendly with everyone and that was great.
I met Tara before the 1st round which was a bit rushed as they really weren't giving us much time from calling us in to the changing rooms and then sending us out on stage but we got to catch up more in the evening... it is so nice to be able to meet other bloggers out in the real world!!!
I was pretty drained all day but as soon as I got on stage I felt fabulous again, I really do love being up there!!!! After my class everyone got kicked out of the auditorium at about 2.30 and we just hung out in the lobby area till they let us back in at 5pm....
Then the evening show and the routines started!!! There were some great routines and music and once I had music around me I perked up again, I had a ball doing my routine so I thought I would share the video.... hope you can see this ok...

We were given our placings straight after the routines for each class, we waited to see the overalls and finally headed home at 10.30pm, got home about 1am by the time I had showered and washed & dried my hair I fell into bed at 2am!! I was wide awake at 3.15 with a brain that wouldn't stop and leg and foot cramp from hell... got to sleep just as the sun came up, then was awake again at 7am..

We were determined to get out on the bikes today and in the end had a great ride up to Dayboro where it turned out to be Dayboro Day and we wandered round the festival munching on German sausages and enjoying just being somewhere without a timetable... we even managed to get home and put the bikes away before a major rain storm came out of nowhere!!

So it's been a very long but an awesome, totally fabulous weekend... A total guilt free eating day today and got to say that once again I ended up with chicken and salad for dinner... Of course there was chocolates, I am not an idiot you know!!!

But I am back at the gym first thing tomorrow and getting ready for the October competition!!!! Yay back to heavy weights and hard training - Bring it on!!!
