Lets Try That Again Shall We...

OK so after starting with a hiss and a roar my week crashed and burned with the flu from Tuesday afternoon onwards till yesterday...

I finally managed to get back into the gym yesterday morning doing a hard workout of biceps and chest, and threw in 45 mins of HIIT this morning just to cover my bases before starting again tomorrow.

Being stuck at home has driven me crazy but I also think it has probably given my body a chance to relax and regenerate in a snuffly kid of way.

This weekend I have continued to keep the focus of relaxing and have concentrated on not concentrating on the countdown to October. So yesterday after we went to the gym I came home and decided it was close enough to a spring day and did some spring cleaning, which included washing most of the windows inside and out... we then went our for coffee and cake and a bit of a wander around the shops.. came home and cringed through the rugby... whew a bit close for comfort there boys, but still a win!!!!

Today started with the 45mins of HIIT at the gym where I puffed and made weird breathing groaning orgasmic squeeky noises during the 3 min sprint intervals thinking that it was just Hubby and I alone only to discover that we were not alone, god only knows what the other guy (who must have arrived after I turned the Ipod up loud) thought I was doing on the Cross trainer.... LOL

Then a quick finish off of the house when the vacuum cleaner came home from the business. Yes yet another vaccy has gone to the great vaccy heaven thanx to cleaning too much dust out of cars and once again my home vaccy has been stolen "in the meantime", so once again I have to wait for it to come home before the house gets defluffed...

Anyway got that out of the way and headed out on the bikes as another beautiful day awaited us... just a short blat up to Woodford for lunch and a stroll round the antique shops and of course the chat with total strangers who also ride Harleys regarding my beloved bike and her sexy pipes.. Honestly I just wish men would look at me with the same passion as they look at my bike, but then she is such a sexy easy to enjoy thing LOL

Then I came home to meet a lovely lady who is at the same point in life that I was waaayyyy back in January 08, it was so great to have a chat with her about starting out and changing your life. We were supposed to have a quick chat, but over an hour and a half later we were kicked out of the gym cause Chris wanted to go home LOL

I can't wait to see how she goes, I just gave her as much info as I could and contact details for everyone who helped me. It has really given me so much more motivation as well knowing that I have helped another person reach for their goals...

Can't wait to start the week tomorrow.......

I really like the advice to concentrate on staying relaxed and recovering rather than the countdown to comp (being less than 10 weeks out myself now) thanks!
after all, take care of the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves ;)

Hi Cath
Glad you're feeling better. I have been one of the lucky ones this year, no flu, but I do have the 'shot' every year, just makes sense since I work amonst sick people and it's free for me! Haven't had the flu since I started getting them.

Love hearing about your escapades on the bike. My friends hubby has a Harley, a big bloody thing. I had never ridden on a bike until last year, and the first time was on his Harley! I was poohing my pants the whole time, but got a tiny bit of understanding of why people like them. Although all the bike riders hate it up here as the roads are all straight and no hills!

Good on you for helping your friend. For those of us over 40, it gets tougher & tougher, not saying it's not tough for most people, but those hormones, and metabolism just add an extra challenge.
