FIGURING OUT THE FIFTIES.... SO THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT.......

When the world disappoints....

Today I saw how the world works in the drive for the almighty dollar and it saddened me...

In fact it has more than saddened me, it has disappointed and disillusioned me....

I realise this is the real world and that without dollars taken in by whatever business or by whoever is in business no matter what we do, sell, make or service none of us would be paid to work, live, own houses, cars... blah blah blah...

But to see a business plan that openly suggest targeting a specific group of people and in that targeting encourages the supply of types of foods in a way to encourage consuming more than required at a time when they should not even be eaten so that they will only add to the unhealthy nature of the lifestyle that the targeted group are already living.... well in this day and age of obesity and health issues... well it is not only disappointing... It is just sad...

I have days like today when I feel like I live in a parallel universe... looking through some slightly frosted glass into another realm of people who encourage each other to do things to shorten their lives so that they can then stand around and say how tragic it is that friends, relatives and workmates are sick or dying so young...

Is my choices so hard? Is what I do so unachievable? How can making a choice to live longer, healthier and with more accountability be such an unusual choice?

Today was sad.... disappointing... and tiresome...

Cardio was sweated out this morning... Hammies were worked to failure tonight... Tomorrow is weigh & measure day so the results will be posted tomorrow night after I return from seeing the ever wonderful Kelli... I always look forward to seeing her and now I am counting on her amazing ability to recharge me. even more than I normally do....

After what I saw today I need it more than ever...

some of these companies target their customers as "users" rather than "consumers" - a really interesting book in this vein is "The End of Overeating" by David Kessler. well worth a read.

Good luck with Kel, say Hi for me :)

cath, take pride in knowing you are doing something about it, for yourself and others. not only have you chosen to live a healthy happy life loving truthful lifestyle, but you are blogging/journaling your life as an open book and giving others the support and awareness they need to be the best they can be!
