Sleep.. where for art thou...

As you can guess from the title I am still not sleeping very well... What I now class as a good night is only getting up five or six times then returning to bed to sweat before falling back asleep for about an hour..... Yes that is a good night.. a bad night is when I don't actually get to go back to sleep in between the sweats...

The lack of sleep last week made me grumpy... ohh ok that's an understatement... it gave me a temper that would make a Cairns Croc proud... It also made me depressed and I spent the week dong the whole "what is the point in life" thing.. ick... pathetic.. but it does go to prove that sleep is just as important as nutrition and training.

I kept up the FST-7 for the week and it is now in my "keeper" pile...

The good points are that you get an amazing pump in what ever muscle group you are working and the doms that hit two days later prove that the muscles are growing... With the sessions finishing with seven sets you end with a heart pumping muscle aching blast which is great... it can also be totally exhausting especially at the end of a day where sleep the night before has been broken...

By the end of the week my weights on the second training session of each muscle group had dropped but then it is the second time that I was working them and in my case I am only working Bicep, triceps and shoulders twice... worked my legs a hell of a lot more than before and definitely knew about it two days later... not falling-onto-the-toilet-seat doms but definitely hard-to-climb-steps doms...

I managed cardio Monday and Tuesday morning but the sleep and the workouts got the better of me and after killing the alarm Wednesday and Thursday I didn't even bother to set it for Friday morning...

Nutrition has been good.. ohhh ok the sticky date pudding and the plum pudding at work did get the better of me.. but they are only itty bitty single serve size.... give me a break. its off season and Xmas... and I work in a club full of Xmas parties... sigh... at least it is the off season could be a lot worse if it was competition time... anyway since I had a vague feeling that those puddings were going to hunt me down and throw themselves at me I cut back the carbs in my meals last week to compensate as much as I could... not even going to try and fight the festive season..

Already thinking about goals for 2011.... still not sure if I will compete again and if I do what in.... Definitely want to go and watch the March Pro Comp, there is no Masters class so that decision is no longer a worrye.... got a wedding to go to in New Zealand in January 2012 so that is my long term goal... in between then and now... well just looking at the options....

So another week looms...going to have another go at cardio tomorrow morning... as long as I can find the elusive sleep... sleep.. where for art thou sleep...
