Changing My Face....

I have decided that this blog is going to change.....
Over the past couple of years I have been in contact with so many women out there in virtual reality land around my age that are seeking help, information, and confirmation that they are not weird, old or beyond help that I have decided to redirect my blogyness and express my thoughts and experiences as a 50 plus Female who happens to enjoy Figure Bodybuilding and training with weights that compare nicely to the ones that 25 year old boys play with.....

Its not gong to be all technical... although I am hoping to throw in some links to sites that I have found or may find in the future that I think may help answer some of the questions I am asked.......

I am not admitting to knowing it all, or even to knowing a smidgen of it all, or a speck of a smidgen.. I am just going to tell it like it is for me... what I have experienced.. what has worked for me... and I certainly don't believe that just cause something has given me the result that I was after that it will do the same for anyone else... we are all imperfect, different, weird and wonderful people, and that's what makes us all so awesomely fabulous... our imperfectness...

Which brings me to my first.....   ISSUE IN MY FACE
BE THE BEST YOU!
I have worked hard to improve me... on the outside... and some of me on the inside has been changed because of my outside changes....
I train hard, although with the PT course and job changes that are currently enveloping me my training has been adjusted to fit into small time gaps, but I still train hard to make ME better... I don't want to be someone else... I want to be a better ME.
Yes the women in the Bodybuilding Mags look amazing... Yes so do the TV PT trainers on the reality shows... Yes they do all work hard to look like that... Yes I do use a "day after comp" photo on my facebook profile... But do I look like that all the time.. No.. Do you think the women in the magazines look like that every day... no.. I wonder how fabulous the TV trainers look  without the stylists, makeup artists, hairdressers and sponsors outfits... I am not saying they aren't amazing strong women, I am just saying they are them and we should all be ourselves.
I was disappointed when one of the young women on my course told me that she was training so she would look Just Like one of the TV PT trainers... this young woman is a beautiful, intelligent, petite red head.. she currently works as a teacher. She is a totally different body shape to the TV woman... It is wonderful that she is training hard, it is fabulous that she has set herself goals and is working hard to reach them... I just wish her goal was to change HER rather than to become a copy of another person...
I feel that a lot of older women are faced with this pressure everyday. We are shown these incredible women, young and old, and are told to believe they look like a fashion model 24/7 while ironing, cleaning, playing international rugby league and ice skating in their spare time... meanwhile us 50ish mortals struggle with bits of our body that have suddenly decided that pointing down is great, sagging low is fabulous and being covered with hair a nice warming adaptation....
We should be standing tall and proud and showing the world how fabulous life is when you are older, how not having to curtail to peer pressure is a freedom that comes with age, and most of all how being a woman is a strength all in its own.
So that's whats in my face today... Be YOU! Be proud to be YOU! No matter what age you are or where your pointy bits are pointing to...and Screw the ones that tell you otherwise...
