A milestone reached.. or is that a kilometerstone??

Shoulder day today - This has become a new favorite because my shoulders have grown and cut up more than any other part of my body. They also hurt like buggery when I train them, which is not fun but I do like - weirdo!
Stayed outside in the real world for cardio again today, fabulous weather, and I reached another kilometerstone, I power walked the full length of our waterfront (6km's) and jogged 2k's non-stop, a distance I have never been able to do before in the real world!
Can do it on the treadmill but now I realise that running on the treadmill is nothing like the real world!
The real world has smells and wind that brings sea salt and fresh air through your body, it powers you and lifts your soul, you nod and smile at strangers in the real world, you even get to see dolphins glide past in the real world, Pelicans watch you in the real world, boats bob and the sun shines.
It made me realise how many of us never really see the real world.
My hubby and I have decided that lifestyle is better than wealth, and it is the best dec ision we have ever made. I used to leave my home in the dark, wrapped inside the filtrated cocoon of my car, arrive at my work and enter the filtrated box where I spent the day in artifical light to drive home in the twilight. I got to see the real world on the weekends usually from my car window on my way to a mall.
We now work together for most of the week and I also have a part time job, this means that our house doesn't have 3 bathrooms a pool or a theatre room, it is old, it is comfortable, our car isn't bright and shiny but it gets us to work, we stil have our toys - kayaks & harleys but these are not the flashest shiniest fastest, they are enough for us to enjoy them and the rides we take on them.
We do not think we are missing out of the fun things in life, on a slow day at work we get to spend 2 hours at the beach, who needs a theatre room when your lying on the sand, between one job and the next I get to jog in the real world and watch dolphins swim by..... who needs wealth when you soul is full of sea air and dolphins!

PS... Thank you KatieP :O)

I just love the sound of your lifestyle! This is what I want for my family. Maybe one day, hey?

I dont have a treadmill, so I run in the "real world" every time! I've just completed 30mins of intervals, with my kids watching and cheering me on. Actually, other people were cheering me on too! I used to be embarrassed running in public, all sweaty and wanting to vomit!!!

But I got over that!

I enjoy reading your blog, you write very well!
