FIGURING OUT THE FIFTIES.... SO THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT.......

Of Course thats what it is.....

Yes.... today was the big "Find out day" and to get to "find out" we had to travel into the centre of Brisbane in morning traffic.... So to get to a 9am appointment we had to leave the island at 6.30am, and just as well we did since it was not a peaceful relaxing trip....

Maybe we should have realised things were not going to go smoothly when we had a 10 minute wait at the Bribie Petrol Station while the gentleman in front of us at the Tyre Air hose decided that every tyre had to be checked and had t be adjusted to exactly the right pressure....

Maybe we should have know when the person making the coffees is the worst coffee maker out of all the staff at the petrol station and so we decided to give it a miss...

But we smiled, carried on to the next service station and then made up this new game that I think everyone should play at least once...... Dare you!!!!!!!!

If you are in Australia you will know that when you go to the BP Service Station "Wild Bean" cafe to get takeaway coffees they ask for a name to call out and everyone dutifully supplies their real name... why????? Haven't you always wanted to be named something wild and exotic... well here is your chance!!!!!!!! Why tell them "Cath" when you can say "Cornucopia" or "Fantasia"

Today was my first go at our new game and it is hard to come up with something spectacular in 10 seconds but I said "Petal" and had to repeat it twice to the sceptical woman who writes it on the cups, then when the lady who made the coffees had to call out PETAL!!! She looked around and mumbled I think that's right.. so I sent Hubby up and he said "Yes" LOL

Dare you to try it, just to watch their faces, its fabulous!!!!

Of course there is the Karma thing to deal with when you play with people, which got us in the form of a very flat tyre - yes we had checked the air when the guy on Bribie finally finished - but one tyre decided to totally die on the outside lane of the Bruce Highway in peak hour traffic at 1ook's and hour....

I was very grateful that not only was Hubby driving but after years of Police driver training it was a very mundane thing for him to control the swerving station wagon and get across three lanes to the edge.... Once the tyre was changed (Yay for hubbies) we headed off... now running just a little late and the only thing we could come up with was... hey at least it wasn't raining!!!! Which it had been on Bribie....

The nose to tail traffic was pretty nasty and we avoided the new Clem7 tunnel as our GPS didn't even know it existed, only to discover 20 minutes later that the exit from the tunnel comes out 50 metres from where we had to go lol... The parking is 15 minutes walk from the clinic which we semi jogged to arrive on time and then in true Health Service manner we sat and waited till 10am to see the Prof..

You know the worse thing about going to one of these clinics is being totally surrounded by sick people... ohh and the big bright notices telling you about being sick and how not to get bowel cancer, and even how to check for bowel cancer... lovely... ahhh well you learn something new everyday.. lol

Finally saw the Prof and he was fabulously awesomely great, the sort of great that made you think "If I am going to be cut open let it be by this guy!" and finally the diagnosis..... drummm rollllll plllleaseeeeee...

I have a birthmark on my Liver... boooooriiinnnnggggg...

That's it folks... a birthmark... if it was on my skin it would be 8cms round and dark purple... but its on my Liver... and it means nothing... which, Prof explained, is just as well because if it was something I would have lost 2/3rds of my liver right around both of the major arteries and it would have been one hell of an operation...

The prognosis... have fun, don't come back... do what ever you like... dehydrate for two days, work your arse off doing endless cardio, eat as much protein as you can shove into your mouth.... you are an idiot if you enjoy that.. but hey if you do enjoy that then go for it... Triathlon??? Why would you?? but once again if you want to do one go for it... you will not explode although that would be pretty amazing to watch if you did lol

A teeny tiny part of me was quiet sorry that I don't get to see the Prof again.. he would be a fabulous health specialist to be looked after by... my next thought was if they ever say to a member of my famly that I have to be identified by my birth mark..... I am truly screwed in a big way lol

Soooooooooo now what.. its too late for me to do the May comps... If I do compete this year it will be Sept/Oct comps... but then there is that darn Tri in Sept, and that keeps dancing around me like a spoilt kid with a flag... pick me, pick me... hmmmm can't make a decision today.....

Spent the rest of the day watching my Shopping Slut of a Hubby buy more clothes, I managed one top and some makeup... sad but true...

I have work tomorrow then don't go back to work until the 12th as I had this leave booked so I could get ready to compete in the IFBB on the 11th...

I feel like I need to get organised, my study has been sadly lost in the whole crisis mess, and I have hung on to my old size 18 clothes in my wardrobe for over 2 years now as I have been secretly scared that one day I may wake up and be right back there...

I will be giving them to charity next week... I know I will not ever go back there and now I really need to clean up and organise... both my world and my headspace...

In case I don't blog again till afterwards hope you all have a great Easter break, I have the Christmas Chocolate almonds from my boss finally at home in the fridge and everyone at work gets given a chocolate bunny (which I labelled yesterday and managed to give just about everyone the right sex rabbit lol) and I am not sure if I will eat my buny or almonds or pass them on...

I no longer crave chocolate, but when one "Broke" yesterday I did have some... tasted good but not as flash as I remembered... A bit like an old lover... you think they will be wonderful when you see them again but really they are just older and not as flash as you remembered them lol...

Gosh, you and I must have the cheeky gene. I've been doing that at coffee places for years! My favourite is "Jane" - "just Jane" they say - "yes, Plain old Jane" is what I say back :)

Glad you're healthy :)

I can barely type I am laughing so hard. Don't get me wrong, after all those bad news episodes (and there were many) that I went through with mum, I am sure part of my hysterical laughter was mostly relief. But a birthmark on your liver was the last thing I was expecting, but I am so very happy that this is all it is. Congratulations Cath... now get back there amongst it (not that you ever really stopped) xxx
