The times they are a changing

I am on Annual leave this week and today I spent the day with Manda and Joseph at Australia Zoo... It was a fantabulous amazingly awesome day and I loved spending the whole day with them wandering and chatting.... and of course watching Joseph feed the Kangaroos..

Aussie Zoo really is a show case of native animals, although the new Tiger and elephant areas are spectacular as well but being able to touch and see the native animals is great.... The show was actually hosted by the Irwins today and was as flawless as always. It is commercialised but it is still a place that I think everyone should visit if they do get the chance.
The zoo is always presented beautifully with spotless paths and amazing gardens.... I especially enjoyed the beautifully mown lawns... They are really superbly awesome.... That lawn bit was for Neil, Manda's Husband, who is in charge of making sure the lawns are beautifully awesome :o)

So I am now exhausted from wandering around all day soaking up the sun and the pleasure of fabulous company...

Yesterday was spent finishing two of my Nutrition assignments and sending them off and tomorrow I will be getting stuck in to the next two, which will bring me back up to date, I got a bit lost when the AHL arrived and my focus drifted off but now I am back to studying so I can reach that goal this year as planned.
As for my training, I am back into the hard and heavy sets with the weights I am pushing, the numbers are slowly going back up which is what I want so I can keep building muscle while I try and organise the rest of my shattered year. The first three months have certainly been a roller coaster ride and I am still having trouble settling back into a routine and refocusing on my goals...
The gym times are changing again, this time going from the 5am opening to 5.30am, so I am pleased I am not in full competition mode for May as this happening 7 weeks out from a comp would do my head in... Even not being in pre-comp mode the loss of half an hour training time is making us reshuffle our training programmes. We have only just reshuffled them from when the squat rack and four of the other leg machines I use were removed a couple of weeks ago and now we are having to change them again...
The new owner is doing what he thinks is correct and this is his full right and I am looking forward to seeing all the changes and the new machines the notice on the wall has been promising. But in the mean time the old machines have been taken away before the new ones have arrived, no biggy in the scheme of things but it can be unsettling when you walk in with your programme and discover the squat rack has been removed... yes there is still another one... it is downstairs.... with an olympic bar and very few lighter weights.. the remainder of the leg machines are upstairs... minus the 45 degree leg press, Ab/Adductor and standing Hamstring curl, not the end of the world, although super setting with squats is pretty much gone ... it just knocks my focus when I'm are not sure what machines will be there for the next work out.... But hey the times they are a changing....
I still keep toying with the triathlon idea as well... doing cardio the last couple of mornings reminds me of how much I love to run now that I can... back to doing HIIT and watching my heart rate soar in the sprints knowing I am no longer under threat of exploding lol... love them...

It will be hard to change tact... I do not even know if I want to.. although to find my limit in a race and then to beat that limit in the next one... that is one tempting son of a bitch isn't it...
Hubby supplied me with two triathlon mags over the weekend and I have been devouring them, so who knows... I am still unfocused... I am still aiming for the September and October Comps but I will not need to make a true decision on them until June/July and by then who know how far I could be able to swim/bike/run.... Although knowing Hubby I will probably end up with the sparkliest bike in the tri... lol

The zoo looked like fun...I have not been in years.

I hate when the gym shortens hours.
