FIGURING OUT THE FIFTIES.... SO THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT.......

Another week...

I haven't been mentioning my training or cardio a lot lately and I thought it may be time to vaguely outline what I do and when...

I don't like to list exact exercises and weights as I believe that everyone is a totally different organism, every body reacts in its own way to the exercise process and listing what I lift and how often seems a bit... well... silly actually...

Would it matter that I bench pressed 3 sets of 12 at 40kgs.... Is that fabulous... is it more fabulous because I am 50... is it amazingly awesome because I am a 50 year old Nana who is on a cutting diet... well it may be... but I don't know if I bench press 40kgs cause it really doesn't matter...

The reason I don't know is... being in a mood for total honesty here... I would have to get out Mondays workout sheet to even tell you what I do bench press... We always list them so we both know we are progressing but I no longer look at the weights... I have found that knowing the weights was limiting my ability... I now wait and make sure the towel on the bench is nice and tidy and the bench is in the perfect lifting place while Hubby loads the bar.. I don't ask and he doesn't tell me.. All he says is that I did it easily last week so I can toss it this week.. and I do... cause he said I could..

So what HAS been happening in the last few weeks is when it is time to go home Hubby will turn to me and say something like... your weights went up 5kg in every exercise, or 10kg, or you did a full 12 reps without spotting on the incline, last week you only managed 6...

With this method I know I am growing and changing and achieving better results... numbers are not limiting what I do, numbers are not governing what I achieve...

I am trying to use this method with my cardio as well... it is a little harder as I have to programme int he minutes that I need on the cross trainer.. I am required to do 45 mins at 75-85% heart rate.. I programme in 60 minutes then stick in the Ipod and go... most days I complete the 60.. the others I always do more than 50... why limit myself... limits ruin goals..

My food intake has been a total change this time round.. I have 2 no carb days and one carb load.. nothing huge on the load day, in fact it is exactly the same amount of carbs I used to have every day on my last pre-comp diet... I find that by the end of day 2 I reach that point where I am hanging out for the carbs, but then they arrive the next day and I am happy... it is a perfect diet at the moment... but that doesn't mean it won't change tomorrow when I see Kelli.. or it may not... this type of eating is designed for the way we (Kelli and I ) both know my body will behave....

So that's how I train and do my cardio and eat... its not rocket science... eat clean, train hard, enjoy life...

Hump day tomorrow.. will let you know what the results are...
