Training on Tuesday

Ahhhhh the joys of Tuesday... Its Leg Day........ insert happy dance here....

Leg Press, Wide Squats, Lunges, Leg Extension, Leg Curl doubles then singles and of course the piece de resistance.. the Bum Crunch courtesy of Julie...

Ok I know it has a real name but to me it is a Bum Crunch and it burns after three reps and if I can get to 15 raises without my hamstring cramping I am grateful... So what, you ask, is a Bum Crunch... well let me tell you....

You lie on your back on a bench with your knees bent and feet on the end of the bench... get someone to place a heavy.. I'm a wimpy old lady and use a 27.5kg... Julie out shines me big time..... resting on your hip bones...point of note: use a towel between you and the weight unless you want bruised hip bones..  then you just..  I use the term "just" cause it makes it sound soooo easy but it ain't... lift your arse off the bench and wow...It is the bestest, nastiest, meanest exercise that works your arse and hammies... love it! It is officially a bitch of an exercise... yay!

I don't train calves.... Ever.... my calves are big enough to feed a small village in Outer Mongolia for a week and they are my pet body part, just moving makes my calves grow, just looking at a calf raise machine makes them double in size and since my Quads look down upon my calves and mumble "show offs not getting me to do that", my calves cannot be trained as they would soon be bigger than my Quads... so although I love to train them...mostly because I can do donkey calf raises that makes grown men gasp and cry in jealousy.. for the sake of symmetry and to stop the constant annoying bickering between them and my Quads.. I don't... sigh 

So that was Leg Day.. one of my favourite training sessions...

Nutrition was right back on track today... no banana & coconut loaf... no apricot balls... just my clean food and already I feel better...

So that was Tuesday... Wednesday is Hump day, half day at work and I am off to collect my first six months of contact lenses...

Oh and Tank is much better, thank you for asking... hardly even a limp on any of his gamy legs... he is still puzzled as to the banishment from our bed, but it is just too high for him to jump up on and to jump down onto a hard tiled floor from... so since he can not share my bed he is now an ever more clingy lap dog... seems that rising summer humidity and temperatures do not stop big hairy cuddles from a 40kg lap dog who throws himself onto my legs and spreads out with a sigh of pleasure... see this is the real reason I train I have to be able to withstand the love of a 40kg lap dog... for which I am truly grateful...

ohhh looky... jelly time... and then lap dog time...
